This is a test post from flickr, a fancy photo sharing thing.

Hey all:

I just wanted to tell everyone about the new gay TV Channel, in association with MTV, LOGO.

Check it out...we're so excited that MTV continues to be progressive in an attempt to create creative spaces for glbt art/media.

The Heroines are at present pitching the Gladdest Thing to LOGO and we feel really great about it. As soon as we have more information, we'll let you know. Until then, let LOGO know you're out there and tell em' you'd love to see the Heroines on the boob tube. ;)

Love to all...

Heroine Films - bi-monthly update!

HERO/INE OF THE WEEK - This week's hero/ine is the one and only WAYNE CRAWFORD! Wayne is an amazingly talented actor/director/producer and took the time out of his busy schedule to help out us in the filming of the trailer! We just wanted to say thanks... You're the best Wayne!

PRESS & PACKAGES - If you missed it in the last update, the DTH did an amazing article on the Heroines and you can read the article here - DTH - Heroine Chic.

We've been working overtime to get press kits/Production Packages out. So far, we have one with Ellen Degeneres, Frontier Media, Wolfe Video and we're still pushing to get in touch with Ms. Rosie O'Donnell's agent to see if we might get the script to her for consideration as one of the leads - Main character, Kate's mom - Marlene.

High up on the list as well is - Guinevere Turner - You all know Guin from Go Fish, American Psycho and most recently, the L WORD. The Heroines have sent off a query to Ms. Turner's agent and are awaiting their reply.

We've also just submitted to the Sundance Institute's Writer's/Director's Lab, so keep your fingers crossed on that one!

LIVE SHOWS - The heroines will be speaking and show the trailer all weekend at the UNC Variety Show - at the Caberet in the Student Union, April 22-24. Check us out and stop by to chat! We'd love to see you there!

GEAR - We're still waiting to see your MUGS. Send us pics in your heroine gear!!! We'll put you on the site!!!

That's all for now folks!

We really appreciate all the support we've been means the world to us. Keep it coming!

The heroines attended the Women's Word/Women's Voices event at UNC- Chapel Hill and had an amazing time watching the other artists perform and promoting their trailer. Thanks to all who donated for shirts and the overwhelming response to the project. We were absolutely touched and loved being involved. You're all fabulous!!!

Thanks so much, Claire!!

Look for the Heroines on the cover of the Arts & Entertainment Section of the Daily Tarheel (hopefully next week)!

We've sent out our promo packet to some big “names” this week. So check back and often for updates on that!!

Specifically, we're trying to get in touch with Guinevere Turner for casting. If anyone knows the best way to get in touch, please e-mail mel at:

The Daily Tarheel will be featuring Heroine Films on the Cover of their Arts & Entertainment section (next week?) Check us out!!!

We're still trying for articles in Curve, Girlfriends, etc. etc, although, thanks to Carol Henderson (Olivia's mom!), we're feeling much better about press and the story and life in general! ;)

We'll have information in the next couple of weeks about other articles about Heroine Films. Check back and often! ;)

Melanie Wall of Bread & Butter Screenprinting is at it again, going all out for Heroine Films!!! Melanie has compiled a letter in support of Heroine Films geared toward GLBTQ Businesses in an attempt to get the business community involved in the Heroine Films Fundraising efforts. If you know anyone who is GLBTQ and owns a business (or not) that might be interested in our grassy roots, please give us the heads up! We'll be sending out letters in the coming weeks for donations!

I will be posting the letter on the site in the next week or so, if you need a copy to shop around.

***** DVDS

We have DVDs of the Promotional Trailers being used for Distribution & Production Companies. If you know anyone who might be interested, please let us know and we'll get a DVD to them!

Going along with the above, Heroine Films has decided to lend their expertise to the businesses (or personal) who would like to donate to Heroine Films. For a production budget we come in and shoot your commercial or music video, hire/direct actors, find locations, script and edit your commercials and will negotiate rights. You get a sweet, sleek and sexy commercial/music video/documentary and help us get closer to our goal. For further information, please e-mail:>
